Welcome to the
MTA Email and Text Message Alert System

Current Customers

  • LIRR Email Service Alerts

  • Metro-North Email Service Alerts

  • NYC Transit's Email Service Advisories

If you currently receive email service alerts from LIRR or Metro-North or NYC Transit's email service advisories, you have been automatically added to the new system. You should have already received an email containing log-in information and a temporary password. The new system provides many more options. You can add subway or bus alerts, line or branch alerts, as well as where and when you want these alerts delivered. But, even if you don't want to change your options, you must log-in to your account and replace the temporary password with one of your choosing within 30 days. If you do not log-in and change your password, your account will be deleted after 30 days, and you will have to re-register.

If you currently receive email notifications from New York City Transit, Long Island Rail Road, or Metro-North Railroad, you have been automatically added to the MTA's new email and text messaging system. All of your service alert preferences were preserved in the transfer.

You should have received a notification email informing you of the transfer, along with a unique temporary password for your account. If you have not already done so, you must validate your account by January 9 in order to remain in the MTA's new email and text messaging system and to continue receiving service alerts.

Note: While the MTA provides this alert service free of charge, you may be responsible for the cost of received text messages from your cell phone carrier depending on your calling plan.  See Sign-Up page for details.
